Taylor-Joy has five siblings four from her father's prior marriage. They resided within Buenos Aires up until Taylor-Joy aged 6 and after which they moved to the Victoria district of London. Taylor-Joy acknowledged that the move had been difficult and that she was unable to study English as she wanted to be able to return to Argentina. Hill House became her school preference after she was required to switch schools. Then she attended Queen's Gate School where she trained in ballet and appeared in school productions. In her 16th year she decided to leave school in order to pursue acting as a career.
